ROSE JENNINGS

I am a costume design and making graduate from Nottingham Trent University. I have completed many self directed design projects including productions of The Nutcracker, Frankenstein, Dangerous Liaisons and Macbeth. My final major project at university, Orlando the Marmalade Cat's Adventures equipped me with all the skills to construct a concept and execute it to a professional level.

I additionally have extensive practical skills in the field of costume making including both historical and contemporary pattern drafting, sewing skills using hand techniques and machine, embellishment techniques including machine and hand embroidery, Printing techniques such as screen, collograph and heat press and dyeing techniques. These skills have helped me complete projects in garment construction, millinery and accessories. Other workshops I have attended have given me skills in silver smithing, jewellery making, felting, crochet, and weaving.

 

EXPERIENCE

I have recently completed a five week contract with The Curve in Leicester where i constructed two lead cast members dance dresses as well as completing alterations for the whole cast. Additionally whilst there I was asked to assist on the laundry call for Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. 

 

Additional relevant experience includes assisting on photo shoot days with dressing, sewing and social media work; Including assisting performers and designers/makers with quick changes, fixing, embellishing and altering garments and assisting promotional photography work for social media. I have additionally completed my own self directed projects and photoshoots. I also work part time for a high end clothing retailers doing fittings, sales, and social media posts as well as helping Nottingham Trent University with their admissions process.
